Four disciplines, one shared studio workflow
A studio only runs calmly when picture, light and sound are planned together. Helen Marsh leads that joined-up view, drawing on her years as a studio director, and she decides which of us joins a project so that you are never briefed by someone outside the relevant discipline.
Daniel Okafor looks after camera and vision. He writes shot plans for news and live entertainment studios and coaches operators on framing, pedestal moves, teleprompter work and shot calling, so that the crew shares one way of describing what is on air.
Priya Shah designs lighting for small and mid-sized studios. She balances the look of a set against available power and the time a crew has to rig, and she trains your own people to maintain the plan once she has gone.
Tom Gifford covers audio, from microphone placement to the layout of the mixing desk and talkback routing. His aim is dialogue that stays clear in a live programme, even when the rundown changes at short notice.
Because the four of us share one small office in Norwich, a note from the lighting visit reaches the camera plan the same day. Clients get a single set of recommendations rather than four reports that disagree with one another.
